Note to self about dear old IE6
Must specify width and height when using PNG fix for IE6, or else images will look stretchy and sad. There are still many strange things to learn about this old friend here, unfortunately.
Random Project Ideas / Exercises
I am in the mood of thinking about potential projects. Here are some that I’d love to work on:
-a true Broken Telephone-
(I’ve never done this but I’m sure others have
whethere intentionally or not)
-Things You’ve Lost-
(draw/describe in words about something you’ve lost..could be an object or a feeling or something even more abstract)
-Tell Me Something About Yourself-
(go up to someone and ask them nicely to tell you something about themselves. write down what they say, and think about why they might have chosen that to tell you)
and along the same line,
-Let Me Tell You About Myself-
(go up to someone (who seems approachable) and tell them something about yourself. describe their reaction and response.)
Thank you, Keri Smith.

Keri Smith’s book “How to be an Explorer of the World” speaks volumes to me and I find comfort and inspiration from her thoughts and observations.
She gives exploration exercises that are bound to make you see the world in ways you’ve never seen before. When you do see the world in different ways, it will feel oddly familiar to you…because you’ll realize the things you noticed were there all along.
pg.91 “Now I will do nothing but listen. I hear all sounds running together, combined, fused, or following, sounds of the city, and sounds out of the city — sounds of the day and night…” – Walt Whitman
The other day, I spontaneously tried to email Keri and to my surprise, she responded

“Hi Keri,
My name is Margaret from Toronto, Canada. I stumbled upon your books the other day in the bookstore and I am very inspired by them.
I have been working on a project called ‘Ordinary People – Objects have feelings too’ about noticing and documenting objects on the streets that have some sort of human character or emotion because of the way they are situated in their environments. If you have a moment, please check it out here : http://ordinarypeople.thirtyonekm.com/ and I would love your feedback.
Thank you very much! Have a great day
Margaret”
