Coming back from Vancouver, I dearly missed the cafes on the Drive. The coffee’s good and everyone’s really laidback here. Every cafe has free wireless (something lacking in Toronto cafes), but they all lack one thing – plugs!
I’m at this cafe called Prado and the entire cafe has only ONE plug. It doesn’t even have an extension bar, which is rather unfortunate. It’s got everything else though that a cool cafe would have: good music, decent coffee, large windows, old hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, chipped white paint on door frames. I suppose with the lack of plugs, it forces people to do analogue things like chat, read or study. Alternatively, people who make use of their free wireless would need to have a laptop that is decently charged or doesn’t require a power adapter plugged in at all times :P.
I don’t mind doing analogue things…there are lots of things in my head that I’ve been too lazy to write down during this trip. Power off.
